Adapted from the 1954 noir film “Suddenly”, starring Frank Sinatra and Sterling Hayden, this bold reworking tells the (fictional) story of an assassination attempt on a young Stanley Kubrick. The year is 1962. Following the release of Kubrick's controversial screen version of “Lolita”, a secret sect plot to show their disapproval, by hiring a sniper to eliminate the director when he rolls into a small mid-west town on a press tour. HEART OF DARKNESS:
THE PRELUDE
The 1961 cult drama “Night Tide” starring a young Dennis Hopper, is transformed into a prequel to the Joseph Conrad book which inspired Francis Coppola's “Apocalypse Now”. Hopper is Marlow, re-imagined in this version as a troubled sailor obsessed with tracking down a mysterious ivory trader in Africa named Kurtz. Starring Marlon Brando, in the only film he directed. But when he falls in love with the young woman who will spawn the future villains, he starts to have second thoughts.

HIS GIRL FRIDAY:
THE POLITICALLY CORRECT VERSION
This 1940 classic is deftly re-imagined as a tongue-in-cheek homage to modern day political correctness. In this version, screen icon Cary Grant (playing himself) discovers that one of his old movies is about to feature on a new TV channel, but only after its original story is changed to fit a politically correct narrative. But when he decides to make those changes himself, the fate of the movie is anybody's guess. Comedy / Satire. Available from September 2021.
